Help for Owners

If you have arrived at this page the chances are you have a pet you wish to protect with a Microchip. As a responsible pet owner you will want to make sure that the products you choose help you achieve this, and that the implanter cares as much about your pet as you do.

On this site you will find a list of companies and trained individuals that are qualified to microchip Dogs, Cats, Rabbits and Ferrets. To find someone in your area now please use the 'Go Fetch' link on the left hand side of the page.

All our microchips are registered on either PeddyMark's database, AnimalTracker or the Kennel Club's database Petlog for added peace of mind both are secretary of state approved. If you are wishing to register your pets microchip please visit either of these databases.

** This site is only for the purchase of microchips**

Many of the adverts on this database will show the cost of microchipping along with the implanter's location. In a large number of cases the implanter will travel to you, so not only should you save money on the procedure and travelling time, your pet will feel even less stress being microchipped in the familiar surroundings of home.

The procedure is very simple and is no more painful than any other subcutaneous injection between the shoulder blades. A pet will not be aware of the microchip's presence under the skin once it has been implanted. It is important that only a trained Implanter or Vet carries out the microchipping

Once your pet is microchipped you are just a few simple steps away from being able to go on holiday overseas and take your pet with you, more details on this can be found under the Pet Passport section.

If you are leaving your pet behind with friends or in kennels this time, then it is possible to add their contact details including their telephone numbers for peace of mind while you are away.

If you move house permanently you should also remember to update AnimalTracker or PetLog with your new details. All this can be done free of charge if you choose the Premium registration when you first register you pet. Ask your implanter for details or you can call AnimalTracker on 01279 219 777 or Petlog on 01296 336 579.
